Application for a Parent to Migrate to Australia

What it is for

This is the departmental application form used by a parent to apply for a permanent Parent category visa to migrate to Australia. The applicant selects the correct parent visa class on the form.

Who completes it

The parent applicant lodges the form; in most cases it is submitted with a sponsorship form completed by the sponsor, though a retiree parent applicant may apply without that sponsorship form.

Information it collects (in general terms)

General categories include the applicant's personal and identity details, the visa class sought, sponsorship and family relationship information, a declaration to withdraw any undecided existing parent application, the intended Australian residential address, certified supporting documents and Visa Application Charge details, and signed declarations including an Australian-values undertaking.

When it is used

Used when a parent seeks permanent migration to Australia through the Parent visa program, applying from outside or within Australia, and lodged as a paper application together with the required sponsorship (where applicable), documents and fee.
